1Bodkin72Bodkin83Bodkin1As some of you already know, a little while ago my husband (AJW Esq.) and I bought a small parcel of land on the outskirts of Kyneton which has become home to our 4 Scottish Highland Cattle, 14 Black Faced Suffolk Sheep, Magoo our blonde Kelpie and lots of native wildlife – oh and us too! I guess you could say we’ve made our own Tree Change from country town to country proper.

Today’s post is a farewell to ‘Bodkin’ our beautiful 1860s town house in the heart of the lovely Kyneton village. We have spent the last four years bringing ‘Bodkin’ and its garden to life and in that time we have grown lots of lovely veg, planted apple trees on the nature strip, collected oodles of eggs from our wonderful hens, enjoyed long days soaking up the Northern sun, worked hard and made good friends with nearby neighbours.

We will miss being a stone’s throw from the Botanic Gardens and Campaspe River and miss evening strolls down Kyneton’s leafy tree-lined avenues, which at this time of year are covered with autumn leaves and drenched in golden sun. We’ll miss the many conveniences of being in town but most of all I think we’ll miss the cheery conversations we have with friends who stop as they’re passing by and find us pottering in the garden.

Change is always hard and letting go can be challenging, but Kyneton will still be our lovely local village and we’re sure that ‘Bodkin’ will be a joyful happy home for its new owners and fellow Countryphiles-to-be. Enjoy! {d} x You can view more interior photos via the Real Estate pics here.
